Texas hold rules (more commonly known as Texas Hold'em) are a snap to learn. Here's how it works. Each player at the table receives two cards. These are private cards and only you can see them. They are also called pocket cards in game lingo. After this, a round of betting occurs, and then three cards, called ?community cards?, are flipped over in the center of the table. These cards, also collectively called the ?flop?, are shared and all players at the table can use them as a part of their hands. Following the flop, there's a second betting round, and then another common card, called the turn card. After a 3rd round of betting, the 5th community card, known as the river card, is dealt.
Now, there's a fourth and final betting round, and players still in the game show their cards. The best 5 card poker hand (made from a combination of the 2 private pocket cards and the 5 community cards) is the winner.
Those are the Texas hold rules. Now, consider downloading any of the online poker rooms just below on this page. You can play at any one for free, so there's no risk at all while you learn.
