Hold'em rules are very simple, actually, as you'll soon see. Here's how Hold'em rules work. Each player gets dealt two cards facedown at the beginning, cards that only that player sees. Then there's one round of betting, followed by the ?flop?, in which 3 cards are dealt face up in the center of the table. These cards can be used by all the players at the table. After the flop, there is a second betting round, and then another common card?the ?turn card??is dealt. After a third betting round, the 5th shared card??the river card??is flipped over in the center.
Then, there is just one last round of betting, and all of the players who are still in the pot turn over their cards for the showdown. The best five-card poker hand, assembled from both your 2 pocket cards and the 5 community cards, wins the whole pot.
Those are the hold'em rules. You can play hold'em for free at any one of the poker rooms you see on this page, so click on one to start today.
